Insurance billing, handled — so you get paid without chasing it.
Insurance billing is where most independent therapy practices quietly lose money. Claims go out late, denials never get worked, ERAs pile up unreconciled, and copays slip through — not because the clinician isn't capable, but because billing is a full-time job nobody trained them for.
The Bowerbirds runs your billing end to end. A real team files every claim, works every denial, reconciles every remittance, and collects what's owed — so the money side of your practice runs without you in it.
What's included
- Claim submission the moment a session is marked complete — clean 837P claims, filed same-day
- Denial management — denials and rejections worked, corrected, and resubmitted, not left to expire
- ERA and remittance reconciliation, so every payment is matched and nothing goes missing
- Insurance verification and eligibility & benefits checks before the first session
- Automated copay charges and patient statements
- Superbill generation for out-of-network and private-pay clients
- Monthly revenue reporting in plain language — what was billed, paid, and outstanding
Why it matters
The average independent therapist loses tens of thousands of dollars a year to unbilled time, unworked denials, and claims that never get followed up. Outsourcing billing to a team that does only this recovers revenue that's already yours — and returns the evenings you'd otherwise spend fighting with payers.
Every Bowerbirds service is included in one predictable price, with direct support from Earle and no percentage of your revenue. Book a 30-minute discovery call and we’ll map exactly what we’d take off your plate.

How much does outsourced therapy billing cost?
The Bowerbirds is a flat $999 per month, with no percentage of your claims and no setup fees. Most billing services take a cut of everything they collect; we charge one predictable price no matter how much you bill.
Do you actually work denials, or just submit claims?
We work denials. Submitting claims is the easy part — the money is in following up on rejections, correcting them, and resubmitting before they expire. That follow-through is the core of the service.
Which insurers do you bill?
Major commercial payers (Aetna, Anthem/Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Cigna, Optum/United, and more) plus Medicare and Medi-Cal. If you're not sure about a specific payer, ask and we'll confirm.
- Scheduling & Calendar — We fill your calendar, rebook cancellations from your waitlist, and send reminders that kill no-shows.
- Client Follow-Up — Quiet clients get re-engaged before they lapse, and new inquiries get a fast response — so fewer clients slip away.
